NYSTA ADULT/CONTINUING EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS
We are pleased to announce that a NYSTA scholarship is available for the December 7 – 11 Cornell Turfgrass Short Course!
The purpose of NYSTA’s Cornell Turfgrass Short Course Scholarship is to financially assist turfgrass professionals who are interested in furthering their education. This adult education scholarship opportunity is available to all NYSTA members who are involved in turfgrass management. The 2009 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving candidate in the amount of $500 which covers the cost of tuition.

Registration is now open for the Cornell Turfgrass Short Course: http://www.hort.cornell.edu/turf/events/
The Short Course will be held December 7 to 11 at the Statler Hotel on the Cornell University campus in Ithaca, N.Y. It is the Turfgrass Program's premier educational program and counts more than 1,500 alumni since its inception.
Cornell University faculty and staff as well as national experts on lawn, golf and sports turf management will provide more than 30 hours of instruction in both classroom and hands-on laboratories on topics including:
- Soils, soil biology and soil management
- Grasses and grass identification
- Establishment and renovation
- Irrigation
- Nutrition
- IPM for insects, diseases and weeds
This course has historically been attended by new professionals or for those seeking to refresh their knowledge. But with the volume of new information coming out even the most seasoned professional will benefit.
Cost is $500 and includes all educational materials, continental breakfast and refreshment breaks. DEC and GCSAA credits will be available.
