Account Manager

A brighter future is in your hands.  We’re currently seeking an Account Manager (AM). The Account Manager (AM) serves as the primary contact for BrightView’s clients. They build and sustain long-term relationships, focusing on both client retention and ancillary sales, while providing oversight for field operations. The Account Manager supervises the Production Manager, who directly manages all field operations.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers, focusing on both the main contact as well as the next level above and below.
  • Develop and maintain a schedule to perform “site walkthroughs” during formal meetings with customers to ensure quality and service expectations are met.
  • Lead and facilitate or assist in the resolution of customer problems or concerns.
  • Proactively present site enhancement ideas to existing customers.
  • Ensure renewals of each current account within the customer portfolio.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to sell ancillary services.
  • Generate referrals from existing client base and communicate to Business Developer.
  • Develop accurate estimates and takeoffs for both new and existing clients as needed.
  • Supervise the Production Manager in conduct of field operations.
  • Communicate regularly with the Production Manager to ensure client needs and expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
  • Manage service delivery to specified scope of work.
  • Ensure branch financial goals met by maintaining acceptable gross margins for both base contract work and ancillary services.
  • Coordinate consistent and timely site visits with Production Manager.
  • Participate in branch meetings and assist Branch Manager or Assistant Branch Manager in overall leadership of branch.
  • Maintain satisfactory Accounts Receivable levels.
  • Coordinate with Branch Administrator to ensure branch databases consistently updated with current client information.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned by Branch Manager.

Skills we're seeking:

  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience in the landscape or service industry.
  • 2 or 4 year degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience in a service industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior customer service, management, and leadership experience within an organization, the landscaping industry or local marketplace.
  • Ability to coach and develop teams.
  • Must be able to travel.

Enhancement Manager

The Enhancement Manager (EM) schedules and directs personnel and resources towards providing quality, cost-effective services to clients. EMs also support the Account Manager in estimating and budgeting as needed.

What you'll do:

  • Here, you’ll do all it takes to keep job sites up and running—from securing materials and staff to inspecting properties and monitoring irrigation systems.  
  • You’ll maintain and prioritize schedules, use resources knowledgeably and conduct quality checks.  
  • You’ll also be involved in hiring, training, developing and inspiring your team.  
  • You will serve as the first line of customer contact on site, understanding their concerns and providing the appropriate immediate response.
  • As a hands-on leader, you’ll also be expected to drive our vehicles, lift/carry tree limbs and equipment, and see that all machinery and standards are strictly maintained, meeting quality and safety expectations.

Skills we're seeking:

  • Because of the location of our clients, the ideal candidates will come from the 5 boroughs (Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Bronx, or Staten Island) - need to be able to report to Oceanside, NY when needed.
  • Prior work experience within ubran landscaping, including but not limited to the installation of: rooftop gardens, greenwalls, courtyards, planters, and other applicable city landscape spaces.
  • Ability to check crew productivity, order materials and schedule for projects
  • Ability to estimate green roofs, terraces and all types of landscaping installation
  • Ability to use AutoCAD design program
  • 2-4 years of prior working experience in the landscaping industry or local marketplace.
  • 1-2 years prior experience in a supervisory role.
  • 2 or 4 year degree in a landscape-related field or certification by a landscape association preferred.
  • Ability to coach and develop teams.

Superintendent


We currently have a full time opening for a Cemetery Superintendent at The Evergreens Cemetery in Brooklyn, NY. This is the opportunity to grow your career in the funeral, cremation and cemetery services business. Overview & Responsibilities
The position will be responsible for the overall physical appearance and condition of the grounds, and facilities. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Oversees site preparation for burial services and maintains cemetery grounds; repairs graves that have settled
  • Trains and supervises grounds crew
  • Assures that the grounds crews' personal appearance, actions, and demeanor present an appropriate image to families
  • Ensures a safe working environment by training the staff in proper techniques and use of safety equipment and complies with OSHA and EPA regulations
  • Assists in the selection of staff; trains subordinates; establishes goals and tasks and conducts performance appraisals
  • Maintains proper inventories of equipment, supplies, merchandise and safety equipment
  • Assures that all equipment is cleaned and properly maintained
  • Manages landscape contracts and contractors to ensure grounds are beautifully maintained and safe for all visitors
  • Maintains effective working relationships with President and Staff
  • Documents employee performance and disciplinary issues and makes recommendations to management for course of action
  • Oversees site preparation for burial services and maintains cemetery grounds; repairs graves that have settled
  • Assists the public with purchase of grave plots; arranges for burials with families; locates graves for families and monument companies
  • Marks graves and headstones
  • Obtains contractor bids for special projects and general maintenance
  • Recommends changes for cemetery policies and assists with CBA negotiations
  • Consults with area Cemetery Superintendents on best practices
  • Responsible for maintaining operations budget and weekly payroll for outside crew
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Valid State Driver License required
  • Grounds supervision experience required
  • Minimum 5 years grounds experience strongly preferred
  • Strong work ethic and ethical businesses practices are a must
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus
  • Experience with payroll preferred
  • Computer skills required
  • Ability to set own schedule and work independently
  • Effectively supervise seasonal help
  • Maintain accurate and up to date records

Business Development Manager


The Role - Business Development Manager
Reports to - Area Manager or Area Sales Manager
The Location: Albany, NY
 
PURPOSE:
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to prospect new accounts and expand margin dollars in under-penetrated accounts.  We are looking for someone with agronomic selling experience.Our candidate will be focusing on large lawn care and landscape accounts while at the same time building partnerships with our core group of golf course customers.
  
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:
  • Demonstrate great prospecting skills to identify new accounts and key decision makers
  • Leverage all SiteOne resources and solution selling to  expand margin dollars in under-penetrated accounts
  • Manage a book of business consisting of accounts currently doing little or no business with SiteOne. This book of business will typically range from 10 - 20 accounts ($1.25 million)
  • Grow minimum of $100k GM$ growth year over year
  • Ensure that customers are aware of and fully utilizing all of SiteOne's capabilities including SiteOne University, vendor support, and Partner's Program
  • Uses SiteOne Territory Alignment tools to prioritize and target focus accounts
  • Work and communicate effectively with all relevant SiteOne resources including Sales Support Representatives,   Line of Business Specialists, and store associates
  • Report progress against opportunities to share verifiable outcomes
  • Facilitate the placement of customer orders and monitors fulfillment process
  • Maintain appropriate professional and technical knowledge
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems and developing solutions
  • Facilitate effective hand-off of customers to store personnel or Key Account Manager
 
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
  • Prospecting techniques to create interest in new buyers
  • Presentation and communication skills
  • Negotiation, conflict resolution and customer service skills
  • Proven approach to access decision makers at client organizations

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High school, secondary diploma or equivalent required
  • College degree preferred
  • Have or be able to acquire a category 12 NY state pesticide restricted dealer license
  • 3 - 5 years min. new customer sales experience - required
  • 1 - 3 years Green industry experience - preferred
