SULLIVAN COUNTY CHALLENGE

The 9th Annual Sullivan County Challenge will be held at Grossinger Country Club on August 20, 2008. Sponsored by the New York State Turfgrass Association, Grossinger Country Club, and the Hudson Valley Golf Course Superintendents Association, this is one of our most successful fundraiser tournaments with eight years of proceeds totaling $72,647. Thanks to the sponsors and attendees of last year’s Sullivan County Challenge, we were able to donate $8,934 to the following programs - 2008 Turfgrass Advocacy Day; help support joint turfgrass lobbying efforts with the New York Alliance for Environmental Concerns, sponsor ShortCUTT and Branching Out, and contribute to LEAD New York.

The proceeds from this year’s tournament will support the NYAFEC lobbyist and assist our legislative efforts to promote environmental issues in New York State. In addition, these funds will help finance 2009 Turfgrass Advocacy, NYSTA’s lobby day. Finally, our ongoing effort to fund research and education will be supported. NYSTA appreciates all those who attend and sponsor the Sullivan County Challenge.
